More great progress in the garden last weekend. Thanks to Paul Wilkinson who organised the hire machinery and masterminded the gang to safely feed the bracken branches and vines. #healthandsafety

Gary Bradbury planted up the bed between the shed and the tea rooms with a range of shrubs from his end of season stock.
The remains of the old toilet block were uncovered when the vines and overgrown weeds were cut back. The brick work which is badly damaged was deemed a hazard and screened off with ‘ keep out’ tape. A group of volunteers are now dismantling the remaining bricks. We also finally discovered the Bat and Trap concrete trap fixing, and will be getting the pitch ready for next seasons league when Bat and Trap will return to the Chequers.

The lack of rain means grass growth has halted and until we get some rain volunteers will be mowing less frequently but as necessary.
A big thanks to the gang – Paul Wilkinson, Gary Bradbury, Jon and Sandra Scatchard, David and Jane Greaves
