Thanks to all who came to our last community evening event. Last Fridays pub night was enjoyed by over 100 supporters of the Chequer Inn Ash Village Hall. This was an opportunity to meet neighbours, bring along friends and family but also meet new residents to the village, just as we would hope to in the local. Everyone there agreed, this is the the true benefit of having a pub in the village.
Russell Timpson addressed the ensemble during the evening to remind us that we need to raise as much money as we possibly can from the community. The steering group are currently negotiating for various loans and grants but the less we have to pay in interest the better. Since this appeal the amount pledged has increased and a new investor has expressed interest.
